Hello loves! I’m back with another blog post to share, and tell you about my personal skincare routine. Skincare is something that lots of people dread but is necessary to everyone wether you are someone who suffers from acne, (like me) or who has super dry skin. I personally have combination skin, and while I wish my skin resembled that of an angel’s it’s just not possible; that is unless you work for it. This is when the skincare routine kicks in. Lately I have put a considerable amount of extra effort into making sure my face is cleaner and clearer; and I have ultimately started seeing results! Remember that if you do have skin problems, and you wish it could all go away overnight -God knows I would love that as well- it just isn’t possible. patience, time and effort is the way to go.
I am going to show you which products I use to clean my face every night and morning and give you a couple of tips that can improve the appearance of your skin. I hope that this helps. Just remember that you are all beautiful inside and out no matter how you look.
With that, let’s hop into my skincare routine!
I don’t know how many bottles of this product i’ve gone through, although it doesn’t matter because my skin feels absolutely amazing when I use this! Wether it be this toner or another, this is something I highly recommend everyone use. I use this throughout the day when i’m feeling tired and in need of a refresh, when I feel that my face is getting too oily, as well as every night. I pour some on a cotton pad and gently rub it all over my face and am never disappointed. It quite literally gets everything off your face. After using my Noxzema cream to remove my makeup, I like to follow up with toner to make sure that all my makeup is completely off of my face.
This particular face wash makes my face feel super clean and tingly after rinsing it off. Whenever I use this cleanser my face, without a doubt, is soft the next morning. It is a great basic deep cleaning face wash, for oily skin!! I would not recommend this product to people who have dry or ultra sensitive skin. I also do want to mention that I alternate between this cleanser and the Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser throughout the week, to switch things up.
Exfoliating the face, I find, is something that many overlook or see as more of a luxury. However, it really isn’t. The big question is how often you should exfoliate. The most common answer is once to twice a week. I personally love this particular scrub because it is made with organic ingredients. Now, I have not ventured out into the great big world of exfoliators and everything to do with exfoliating; however, I haven’t had much reason to venture out there. the willow bark exfoliates excellently and the peach, which is actually from the peach stone, (i.e. the nut in the center of the peach) does a tremendous job at hydrating and keeping your face super soft.
A great article that I quite enjoyed about exfoliating: when to and when not to. This article may answer all of your remaining or new questions about this particular skincare topic!
This is part of the Fresh Sephora birthday gift option that the store offers you during the month of your birthday. I was personally uncertain how these two products would work with my skin. All I can say is that i’m glad I gave them a shot. This Rose face mask for starters smells amazing! Secondly, I use it after i’ve toned and washed my face. It recommends you to leave it on for five to ten minutes, although if you’re like me, it doesn’t hurt to leave it on longer than the recommended time. This product does a great job at restoring moisture back into your face and I absolutely love it. It is infused with roses though, therefore I would not suggest a person with sensitive skin use this product; as it may irritate it.
This product serves as a spot treatment for those annoying pimples. It is quite strong, however, since it is just the tea tree oil alone. It does burn the face a little if applied when wet, so avoid that if you can. it does a great job at reducing the pimple or in my case it does sometimes make the pimple worse. Tea tree oil is one of those products that can work magically one day and tragically decide not to the next. It really is something you have to give a try for a little while before you can truly decide if it works for your skin or not. Although, when I apply tea tree oil to my face I also apply a prescribed topical acne cream over it. If you want to try tea tree oil but are scared to try the concentrated version, there are many skin and acne products that contain tea tree oil in them as an ingredient.
I have been using this for a couple of years now, and it has helped tremendously. it is a gel like substance that has benzoyl Peroxide in it, which is an anti-bacterial agent, as well as Clindamycin which is a type of medicine that belongs to the family of antibiotics. Because of this, it isn’t something that you can easily buy at a pharmacy or drugstore. If this is something that interests you, I recommend asking your doctor or dermatologist if Clindoxyl gel is the right kind of acne medicine for your skin type and acne situation.
This is also a topical acne gel that I use. I alternate between this one and the Clindoxyl gel. This gel, otherwise known as adapalene, works by minimizing the amount of oil blocked glands that will often lead to pimples surfacing on the skin. This is a prescribed medication as well therefore, if you are interested in knowing more about this particular product you can ask your doctor or dermatologist about it.
After all of this is done, I apply some lip balm and its lights out.
The next morning:
First thing in the morning, I wash my face with this gentle soy face cleanser to wake me up. It’s so gentle that I’m able to massage this into my eyelid area and not be afraid of it burning my eyes. It does’t break me out, and leaves my skin super soft the rest of the day.
I follow up with this under eye cream every morning. Its super hydrating which I love. Unfortunately, it is a little disappointing in the getting rid of dark circles department. However, this cream is rich with its white pearlescent colour, therefore is great to apply before putting your makeup on for the day, as it helps give the illusion of awake under eyes after applying your concealer.
Additional tips and tricks:
- Drink lots of water everyday!!
- Vitamin E helps reduce the appearance of acne scars.
- Always moisturize after using cleanser (especially if you have dry skin).
- Do not pop any pimples! (fight the temptation, you can do it).
- Hot compress helps reduce the size of pimples that have lots of pressure in them.
*Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, I am just giving advice and sharing what helps my skin. The polaroid picture and the small bottle of perfume are not included in my skincare routine as they are solely there for the purpose of the aesthetic of the photo.
I really hope that this helped some people! If there are any other tips or tricks that I didn’t mention, please feel free to leave a comment down below!
